The Marriott Group has appointed a Fijian woman as their new cluster sales manager for the New Zealand market.
In a statement, the hotel chain announced University of the South Pacific graduate Lavon Achari had taken the regional post from January 23.
Ms Archari has extensive experience in the tourism industry having worked at Novotel Nadi, Tourism Fiji, Rosie Holidays and the South Pacific Tourism Organisation over the course of 10 years.
“Lavon, a University of the South Pacific graduate with a Degree in Tourism and Business management, loves spending time with her little family and is currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce,” a Marriott Group statement said.
“For the five Marriott hotels in Fiji, Lavon will be in charge of actively pursuing new group prospects and specialised group business from important source areas in New Zealand.”
