MOVERS & SHAKERS: Weleilakeba is BPHCL interim CEO

FORMER Fijian Holdings Limited Group chief executive Sitiveni Weleilakeba has been appointed the interim chief executive officer of indigenous-owned investment company Ba Provincial Holding Company Ltd (BPHCL).

Mr Weleilakeba, currently an independent director of BPHCL, replaces Isimeli Bose who had stepped down from the position.

“This transition that is to be effective from November 1, 2025, marks a defining moment in BPHCL’s history, signalling the dawn of a new era in indigenous-led investment and enterprise, focused on transforming provincial resources into sustainable commercial success for the people of Ba,” BPHCL board chairman Ratu Joeli Derenalagi said in a statement.

He said Mr Weleilakeba came to the company with a wealth of experience and a history of a successful corporate career in leadership positions.

“He is well known in the corporate and business sectors in Fiji and PNG, with extensive business relationships and networks. He has unique experiences in providing leadership and in successfully implementing transformational changes in large corporate institutions.”

Mr Derenalagi said Mr Weleilakeba’s appointment was timely and represented a transformation shift, combining proven private sector skills and expertise with provincial aspiration.

“We warmly welcome Mr Sitiveni Weleilakeba whose immediate responsibility is to implement the current approved five-years strategic plan successfully and pivot BPHCL business towards achieving its vision.”

BPHCL manages commercial properties, land development projects, and strategic investments aimed at creating sustainable wealth for its shareholders.
