The Ministry of Justice has announced it will host the Inaugural Justice Summit 2025 on Wednesday, 29 October, under the theme “Reimagining Fiji’s Legal Landscape – From Structure to Service, Justice for Every Fijian.”
The Ministry says the event marks a significant milestone in strengthening Fiji’s justice system and will bring together more than 100 participants from across the law and justice sector, including representatives from the Fiji Law Society, civil society, faith-based organisations, and development partners.
According to the Ministry, the Summit follows Cabinet’s endorsement of the Functional Review of Fiji’s Law and Justice Sector and its accompanying Roadmap for Reform earlier this month.
The review, undertaken by Luke Daunivalu under the Vuvale Partnership between the Fijian and Australian governments, assesses institutional performance, identifies systemic gaps, and outlines key reform opportunities.
The Summit will discuss issues like Justice System Efficiency, Anti-Corruption and Oversight, Registry and Legal Identity Modernisation, Access to Justice and Legal Inclusion, Law Enforcement and Rehabilitation, Legislative Reform and Coordination and Community Engagement and Legal Awareness.
