Ministry receives 6 cancer screening equipment

This is the
message that the Ministry of Health and Medical Services wants every women in
Fiji to know.

With
cervical cancer being the second highest cause of deaths in Fiji, the ministry was
assisted today when Health Minister Jone Usamate received six cryotherapy
machines from the Australian Aids Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
(DFAT) at Tanoa Plaza.

The
equipment were given during the launch of the Cervical Cancer Screening
policy 2015 which will allow nurses to screen and treat pre-cancerous tissues
before it becomes a fully blown cancer.
