LAUTOKA Golf Club captain James Krishna and the evergreen veteran Gaffar Ali fought tooth and nail with the Raymond Singh and Anuresh Chandra combination to take out the 2016 Tiffany’s of Canada-sponsored Two-Men Ambrose event at the Golf Links on Saturday.
Both teams recorded 61 but Krishna and Ali won on a countback to claim top spot.
National rep Roneel Prakash and Pritam Singh settled for third spot on 63.
Former Lautoka Blues soccer coach Dennis Singh recorded NTP on the second hole, with Anuresh Chandra on the ninth hole.
Policeman Josese Wasa made a timely return to the club by hitting the longest drive on the third hole.
Lana Ledger recorded her second promising Juniors golf title on 72 with Marco Singh coming second on 73 ahead of Steven Elijah and Pita Dau Jr both finishing on 74.
The sponsor’s choice award was received by the Saaj Ledger/Sanjay Gopal and Dennis Singh/Usa Koroi combimation.
Club captain Krishna once again thanked Mahendra Gopal for the many top prizes for the winners and the promotion of golf among the new promising junior golfers.
