THE Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team is still contention to win the HSBC World Sevens Series title with two tournaments still to play in the current series.

After losing to South Africa 20-19 in a tense final in Singapore last night, the Gareth Baber-coached side still retains its second spot in the points standings.

Fiji sits in second spot on 143 points and trails leaders USA which tops the series on 145 while NZ is in third spot with 130 points.

South Africa after the win has moved to fourth in series with 121 points.

The series will now take a break before moving to the final two events in London and Paris in May and June.
