700 Fijian soldiers in Middle East

SEVEN hundred Fijian soldiers are currently serving in three different peacekeeping engagements across the Middle East.

This has been confirmed by Republic of the Fiji Military Forces Deputy Commander Brigadier-General Mohammed Aziz.

The peacekeeping engagements are Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) in Sinai, United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in Syria and the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) in Iraq.

Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto has ended his tour of the Middle East this week.
