The Fiji Fashion Week (FJFW) has noticed support and engagement from Fijian families who have recognised that FJFW runways are also about boosting young people’s confidence.

This, according to FJFW spokeswoman Lice Movono who said that yesterday, more than 300 children auditioned for the FJFW’s children’s wear show at the Yue Lai Hotel in Suva.

“FJFW is grateful that after 14 years of driving development in the Fiji fashion industry, we get so much engagement and support from Fijian families who recognise that our runways are not just about fashion but also about boosting our young people,” she said.

“Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we weren’t able to hold our children’s wear show so it gives us so much honour to be able to bring back the made in Fiji brand to the children’s fashion wear market.”

Ms Movono said the FJFW brand was part of a community of global fashion week events to raise awareness of the made in Fiji brand of fashion wear but it’s also a great way to promote the Fiji brand internationally.

The children’s wear show will take place on May 22 at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
