The Army rugby side edged Police 18-17 in a thriller of a rugby match at Suva’s ANZ Stadium this afternoon.

Police led17-10 at the halfway stage in a match which saw only Army scoring points in the second spell.

Police scored two tries through number eight Isireli Kaloucava and prop Timoci Sauvoli with halfback Josefa Kuricuva adding two conversions and a penalty.

Army’s two tries came through halfback Aporosa Kenatale and flyhalf Jeke Suguturaga.

Ropate Toge scored Army’s only try of the second spell to close the gap to 17-15.

Substitute flyhalf Jone Manu kicked a penalty with the last action of the match to secure Army’s first title since 2019.
