THE Coca-Cola Games torch relay team visited Queen Victoria School in Tailevu today.

And according to school principal Qalo Lesi, it was a reminder to the students of their expectations.

Lesi said this week’s Tailevu Zone will be a testing ground for its athletes.

“For the Tailevu Zone, QVS has the least number of athletes from Tailevu. We are only fielding 66 athletes compared to more than 120, which we fielded last year so we have trimmed down our number of athletes,” Lesi told Fiji Times Online.

He added their aim was to win more medals than they won at last year’s Games.

“We are preparing according to our training schedule we have set out. Our coach Tony Rabailiku is doing a great job with the athletes we have chosen and we are hoping for a good outing at the zone this week.”

QVS won four gold, nine silver and one bronze medal at the 2018 Coke Games.

They finished fifth in the overall Boys Medal Tally.
