ADI Cakobau School coach Antonio Rabualiku says this year has been a tight competition and it shows the improvement in preparation by smaller schools.

He said the competition has made his athletes work really hard for their medals.

“We thank God for giving us the gold medals but we’ve been amazed at how other schools have stepped up,” Rabualiku said.

“I’m happy about it otherwise it would be boring if it’s a one-sided affair.

“Although the competition is really tough, it has made the athletes work very hard for the last three days.”

ACS led in the girls’ division from day one of the competition until the final day when they walked away with 39 medals – 17 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze.

More reports from the 2019 Coca-Cola Games are in today’s edition of The Fiji Times.
