FIJI 7s playmaker Waisea Nacuqu is expected to lead the offensive at the HSBC Cape Town 7s this weekend.

The Votua Village in Ba tactician who was instrumental in last year’s Cape Town 7s win is one of the key players in coach Gareth Baber’s lineup to be unleashed at Cape Town Stadium.

“He’s an exceptional player, and a thorough professional in the way he goes about his work here,” Baber said.

“He has great respect from all the players and his behave is one like Jerry Tuwai I try to model the other players on.”

Baber highlighted the edge that players of Nacuqu’s calibre had, was the ability to play multiple positions.

“We look for two or three players who can do that, and if we are pushed into certain situations like injuries they can cover.”

Nacuqu scored three tries and six conversions to help Fiji secure the 2018 Cape Town 7s.

Fiji will chase its fifth win in South Africa this weekend.
