A TOTAL of $5million has been allocated for the recruitment of more primary and secondary school teachers.
In his 2018-2019 National Budget address, Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the allocation would be to recruit 200 primary school teachers and 50 secondary school teachers.
He said $26.9million has been allocated for early education teachers’ salaries.
He said scholarships would be offered exclusively to teachers who wanted to advance their education to a Bachelor Degrees in Maths, English, Physics and Information Technology.
