THE interim Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, will be investigated for professional misconduct and the outcome of this probe will determine whether he should be disbarred from practising law or not.
Responding to a query from an official of FIRCA, Fiji Law Society president Dorsami Naidu said they had already received complaints against Mr Sayed-Khaiyum.
He said the Society was in the process of appointing a committee to handle the matter.
The FIRCA official was curious as to whether the FLS would treat Mr Sayed-Khaiyum's case as it had done the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Ratu Rakuita Vakalalabure.
Ratu Rakuita was deregistered by the FLS and disbarred for playing an advisory role to the perpetrators of the 2000 coup.
Last night Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said he could not respond to all the issues raised but that he would issue a statement today.
