BEING part of a 15-member team to observe the Pakistan elections is a great recognition for Pacific women.

This was the comment by Fiji Women’s Crisis Center (FWCC) coordinator Shamima Ali who was invited by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Secretariat to be part of the international team from the Commonwealth to observe the Pakistan elections.

“I feel very privileged and hope to contribute as much as I can but also learn from the experience,” Ms Ali said.

“This is great recognition for Pacific women since others have also been invited in the past.”

Ms Ali also hopes for domestic elections observers to be present for Fiji’s 2018 general elections.
