Ross McDonald

Ross McDonald is Managing Director of Credit Corp Fiji, and also chairman of the Fiji Sugar Corporation. A former Managing Director of the Pacific-wide Burns Philp company, Ross is also President of the Finance Companies Association, and a director of the South Pacific Stock Exchange. A CPA, he has held a variety of senior management and board positions throughout the Pacific, including in Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu, with companies including WR Carpenter and Rewa Co-Operative Dairy, and has held voluntary positions with the Fiji Institute of Accountants, Suva Chamber of Commerce, the Fiji Employers Federation, the Fiji Red Cross, and YMCA. A Fiji citizen, Ross was Vice-Chairman of the Fiji Bank Enquiry Committee, and has been chairman of the Fiji Parliamentary Salaries and Emoluments Committee. He is also a Trustee of the Anglican Diocese of Polynesia and a board member of the Anglican Church Pension Fund Board in New Zealand. Ross and his wife Sonia live in Suva.

Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi

Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi is a solicitor at Howards, one of Suva's prominent commercial law firms. A former High Court justice, Ratu Joni holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Adelaide (1982) and an Master of Laws (LLM) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada (1988). On graduation, he worked in the Fiji Attorney-General's Chambers and subsequently on the Fiji Arbitration Tribunal. Ratu Joni was appointed to the High Court of Fiji in 1997 and resigned in October 2000 to enter private practice. He and his wife Lusiana Tuivanuavou live in Suva.

Mahendra Motibhai Patel CBE

Mahendra ("Mac") Patel is Chairman and CEO of the Motibhai Group, one of the Fiji's largest importers and retailers. Motibhai's retail arms include Prouds and Prouds Duty Free stores. Mac is also Chairman of Post Fiji, and has held a variety of board and advisory positions with a range of companies. He is Chairman of the Fiji National Diabetes Foundation. Mac was made a Commander of the British Empire in 1984. He and his wife Pratima live in Nadi.

Anthony Yianni

Tony Yianni has been Managing Director of Fiji Times Limited since his transfer here from Papua New Guines in 2001. Tony has worked for News Limited - Fiji Times' parent company - for 28 years, and came to Fiji after four years as Managing Director of the PNG Post-Courier. Tony has held various senior positions in News Ltd after beginning as an advertising representative on The Australian in the classifieds department in 1976. Those roles include Advertising Manager and Circulation Manager of the Townsville Bulletin, and national sales manager for North Queensland Newspapers and the Cairns Post. He is currently Chairman of the Fiji Sixes Charity Fund, a board member of the Media Council of Fiji, and a member of the Fiji Employers Federation. Tony lives in Suva with his TwoDogs, Bella and Isimo.

Umesh Prasad

Umesh Prasad joined the Fiji Times Limited as Management Accountant in December 2003. He was appointed Company Secretary at the Board's Annual General Meeting in April, 2004. Umesh previously worked for the Fiji Auditor-General's Department, and for shipping agents Williams & Gosling. He lives in Suva with Salma and two children.
